Want a tune from Middle East? Contact T-SeriesComposers beware! Lifting Arabic tunes is no more a cakewalk as composers would have to take permission from music label T-series before using them.

Rotana Publishing, a leading producer-distributor of Arabic music and films in the world, and T-Series have entered into an agreement to represent each other's catalogue in the Middle East and India respectively.

Under the Agreement, T-Series will have exclusive rights to the Arabic catalogue and compositions of Rotana Music for exploitation in India for adaptation of Arabic compositions to Indian film songs, master use synchronizations, broadcasting and public performances.

Similarly, Rotana will have exclusive publishing rights of the T-Series catalogue in the Middle East.

"We are really excited to have joined hands with Rotana and are working diligently to establish a comprehensive and legitimate music publishing network," said T-Series chairman and managing director Bhushan Kumar.

"The alliance will create larger opportunities for the music and entertainment industry by legitimising content usage in India and the Middle East," he added.

Echoing the sentiment, Rotana Audiovisual president Salem Al Hindi said: "Today, Arabic music has become popular and global, so in Rotana we are keen to make sure our music is reaching the Indian and international audience in a legitimate manner away from piracy."
