Kites is actually a remake of 2 hollywood movies mixed into 1. 15% of story from Birthday Girl (2001) and 85% of story is from Woody Allen's tale of love and betrayal, Matchpoint (2005)
In Birthday Girl, Nadia(Nicole Kidman) who is russian and can't speak English falls in LOve with John (Ben Chaplin) an English speaking guy who don't understand russian.
Rest of the story is stole from Matchpoint starred by Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Scarlett Johansson.
